Turkey’s energy need has been increasing in parallel with the changing socio-economic structure and its growing economy. Failure to increase energy production equally, corresponds to increasing energy demand, brings up an important issue as energy deficit. In this context, especially considering our country’s energy need being above 70% and growing its dependence on foreign, the energy deficit is a very important and primary problem that have to be solved. In this study, general energy balance of Turkey is evaluated in terms of the level of production and consumption and the issue of Turkey's energy deficit is revealed in general terms. Also in the paper, it is aimed to contribute to the literature, presenting solution proposals for the deficit.
