Covid-19 Salgınının Türkiye’deki İşletmelere Etkileri: Sorunlar, Dönüşümler, Olanaklar

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de farklı endüstrilerde faaliyet gösteren işletmelerin Covid-19 salgınından nasıl etkilendiklerini, oluşan yeni zorlu koşullara verdikleri yanıtları ve önümüzdeki süreç için öngörülerini analiz etmektir. Bunun için iki farklı elektronik kaynaktan elde edilen ve beş aylık bir süreyi kapsayan toplam 84 haber metni nicel olarak incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göstermektedir ki, salgının dayattığı ortak deneyimler bulunsa da krizin etkileri endüstri düzeyinde farklı biçimlerde yaşanmaktadır. Veriler, işletmelerin kriz koşullarına verdikleri tepkilerde, aldıkları önlemlerde ve gelecek beklentilerinde önemli bir çeşitliliğe işaret etmektedir. Salgının işletmelere getirdiği zorluklar kendini hemen hemen tüm iş yapış biçimlerinde ve süreçlerinde gösterirken, lojistik, satış-pazarlama, sağlık ve eğitim gibi endüstrilerde yenilikçi uygulamalar ve dijitalleşme yönünde radikal değişimler yaşanmaktadır. Bu bulgular, hem araştırmacılara hem uygulayıcılara örgütsel sürdürülebilirlik temelinde mevcut bakış açılarını ve modellerini gözden geçirme konusunda önemli bir fırsat sunmaktadır.

The Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic on Turkish Businesses: Problems, Transformations, Opportunities

Abstract

The aim of this study is to understand how Turkish businesses operating in diverse industries have been affected from Covid-19 outbreak, their responses to the present conditions, and their predictions for the upcoming period. For this purpose, 84 news articles that were obtained from two electronic sources covering a period of five months were subjected to quantitative analysis. The findings indicate that although there are common experiences, effects of the crisis have been experienced differently at the industry level. The data also point to a significant diversity in business’ responses to crisis conditions, the measures taken, and expectations for the future. While the challenges brought by the pandemic manifest themselves in almost all business activities and processes, radical changes towards innovative solutions and digitalization are noticeable in particular industries particular industries such as logistics, sales-marketing, healthcare and education.
