ÖĞRENCİLERİN ATATÜRK ÜNİVERSİTESİNİ TERCİH ETME NEDENLERİ ve TERCİHLERİ SONUCUNDAKİ MEMNUNİYET DÜZEYLERİ; REASONS FOR STUDENTS’ ATATURK UNIVERSITY CHOICES and SATISFACTION LEVELS FROM THE RESULT of THEIR CHOICES

Abstract

Üniversiteler, öğrencilere sunduğu eğitim-öğretimin niteliğini ve sosyal olanakları geliştirebilmek için, öğrencilerin üniversiteleri tercih etme sebeplerini ve tercihleri sonundaki memnuniyet düzeylerini bilmelidir. Çalışmanın amacı; öğrencilerin Atatürk Üniversitesi’ni tercih etme sebepleri ve yaptıkları tercih sonucundaki memnuniyet düzeylerini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 30 soruluk beşli likert türü anket ve öğrencilerin sosyo-demografik özelliklerini belirlemek için 17 maddeyi içeren öğrenci formu geliştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın katılımcıları, Kazım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi ve Fen Fakültesinin kimya bölümlerinde öğrenim gören 259 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 13.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonunda öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmının, üniversite tercihlerini yaparken Atatürk Üniversitesi hakkında ön bilgilerinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, Fen Fakültesi öğrencilerinin memnuniyet cümlelerinin ortalaması, Mühendislik ve Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin ortalamasına göre daha yüksek çıkmıştır.

 

Universities, to be able to improve their education quality and social facilities that they present to their students, must know the reasons for students to choice their university and satisfaction level from results of their choices.  The purpose of this study was to determine reasons of students for choosing Ataturk University and the satisfaction level from result of their choice. For this aim, 30 items likert type questionnaire reasons of students’ choice and their satisfaction levels and 17 items student form to determine students socio-demographic characteristics was developed. Participants of this study were consisting of 259 students from Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty, Engineering Faculty and Science Faculty. All of these students were from chemistry department of each faculty. The data collected from the students was then analyzed using SPSS 13.0 packet program. We have found that most of students do not have prior information about Ataturk University when they made their university choice. Also it was found that Science faculty students’ satisfaction levels were higher than from both of the other faculties’ students.
