Sosyal Bilgiler Dersinde Tarih Konuları Öğretiminde Tarihi Filmlerin Etkisi Üzerine Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenlerinin Görüşlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı tarih öğretiminde tarihi filmlerin kullanımına ve bu filmlerin derse yönelik katkısı doğrultusunda Burdur ilinde eğitim veren Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu görüşler cinsiyet, mezuniyet durumları ve mesleki deneyimleri gibi değişkenler etrafında incelenmiştir. Araştırma nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışmasına uygun olarak yürütülmüştür.. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılı içerisinde Burdur ilinde görev yapan 18 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ‘‘Kişisel Bilgi Formu’’ ve açık uçlu 5 sorudan oluşan görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göretarihi filmler sosyal bilgiler dersinde görsellik sayesinde bilgilerin daha fazla akılda tutulmasını sağlamakta, öğrencilerin bilişsel hazır bulunma düzeyini artırmakta, zaman ve kronolojiyi algılama becerilerinin gelişmesine katkı sunmaktadır. Ancak katılımcılara göre bazı tarihi filmler, öğrencilerin bazı tarihi bilgileri hatalı öğrenmesine ve yanlış tarih algısının oluşması neden olmaktadır. Ayrıca katılımcılara göre bazı filmlerde yer alan uygun olmayan veya şiddet içerikli sahneler öğrencilere kötü örnek teşkil etmektedir.

The Views of Social Studies Teachers on the Effect of Historical Films in Teaching History Subjects in Social Studies Lesson

Abstract

This research aims to determine the views of Social Studies teachers who teach in Burdur in line with the use of historical films in history teaching and the contribution of these films to the lessons. These views are analyzed around variables such as gender, graduation status and professional experience. The research was carried out by a case study, one of the qualitative research patterns. The study group of the research consists of 18 social studies teachers working in Burdur province in 2018-2019 academic year. The research collected the data with “the Personal Information Form” developed by the researchers and the interview form consisting of 5 open-ended questions. The data were analyzed with content analysis method. According to the results, historical films provide more information to be kept in mind thanks to the visuality in the social studies lesson, increase the cognitive readiness level of the students, and contribute to the development of their perception of time and chronology. However, according to the participants, some historical films cause students to learn some historical information incorrectly and create the wrong perception of history. In addition, according to the participants, inappropriate or violent scenes in some movies are bad examples for students.
