BAĞIRSAK MİKROBİYOTASININ DUYGU DURUM FONKSİYONLARI ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ: PSİKOBİYOTİKLER

Abstract

Sağlığın bütünlüğünün korunması ve devam ettirilmesinin sağlaması, ancak sağlığın tüm bileşenleri optimum düzeyde tutulduğunda gerçekleşmektedir. Zihinsel sağlık da bu bileşenlerden biri olarak yer
almaktadır. Zihinsel sağlığın korunması ve mental hastalıkların iyileştirilmesinde farmakolojik tedaviler ile yeni yaklaşımlar da göz önünde olmaya başlamıştır. Bu yaklaşım ve teorilerden günümüzde en öne
çıkanlardan biri de mikrobiyota ve bağırsak beyin aksıdır. Mikrobiyotanın tıpkı fiziksel sağlık gibi zihinsel sağlık üzerinde de rol oynadığı açıkça bilinmektedir. Bununla birlikte bu etkileşimde yer alan metabolik ve nörolojik yolaklar henüz açıklığa kavuşmamıştır. Mikrobiyotanın beyin ve dolayısıyla duygu durum üzerindeki etkisini açıklamada psikobiyotikler öne çıkmaktadır. Psikobiyotikler, mikrobiyota ve mental
sağlığa olumlu etkilerde bulunan mikroorganizmalar olarak açıklanmaktadır. Kişilerin duygu durum fonksiyonlarının iyileştirilmesi ve devamlılığının sağlanması adına farmakolojik tedavilere alternatif olarak
düzenli psikobiyotik kullanımının potansiyel olumlu etkileri bilinmektedir. Bu derlemede psikobiyotiklerin etki mekanizması ve kişilerin duygu durum fonksiyonları üzerine etkisi açıklanacaktır.
