Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeliz Gürdal graduated as the valedictorian of the Chemical Engineering Department at Izmir Institute of Technology and completed her master’s degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Koç University. She earned her PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, in 2017. Following her doctoral studies, she continued her postdoctoral research at the University of Zurich before returning to Turkey in 2018 to join the Department of Bioengineering at Adana Alparslan Türkeş University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor.
She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020 and served as an Associate Professor and Marie-Curie Fellow in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Göttingen, Germany, between 2022 and 2023. She was a Marie-Curie Fellow in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, for the 2023–2024 term.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gürdal is a project leader in support programs such as Horizon Europe, TÜBİTAK 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program, TÜBİTAK 3501 Career Development Program, and TÜBİTAK 1002 R&D Support Program. Her research focuses on materials science, chemical reactions, and separation technologies using computational chemistry and machine learning methods.
Ümit KILIÇ received his BSc in Computer Engineering from Çukurova University in 2016 and his MSc in Nanotechnology and Engineering Sciences from Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University in 2019. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Engineering at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University. His research interests include Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and their applications. He can be contacted at ukilic@atu.edu.tr.
