Abstract

Bu çalışma, Sarıhıdır-Çiftedam yerleşmeleri ile sınırlandırılmış alanda (Avanos) Kızılırmak nehrine ait sekilerin incelenmesine dayanarak söz konusu sekilerin oluşumunda iklim ve tektoniğin rolünü ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Kızılırmak vadisindeki sekiler, alansal ve morfometrik dağılışlarının yanı sıra sedimatolojik ve stratigrafik özellikleri çerçevesinde değerlendirilmiş, bölgedeki diğer araştırma sonuçlarından yararlanılarak sekilere ait yaş korelasyonu yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda alanda toplam altı seki seviyesi tespit edilmiştir. Bunlar sırasıyla, +94 m, +67 m, +60 m, +51 m, +29 m ve +12 m sekileridir. Seki depoları, düşük örgülü- düşük sinüsel bir nehre işaret etmektedir. Olası yaş aralıkları göz önüne alındığında en üst seviye dışındaki sekilerin Orta ve Geç Pleistosen’e ait olabileceği düşülmektedir

Abstract

This study aims in order to determine influence climate and tectonics on the formation of the Kızılırmak terraces that confined between Sarıhıdır and Çiftedam (Avanos). For that, the Kızılırmak terraces are assessed in accordance with the regional and metric distributions and their sedimentological-stratigraphical characters. In addition to this the region age correlation of the terraces have been done using other study results. Finally in this area six terrace levels are determined as +94 m, +67 m, +60 m, +51 m, +29 m ve +12 m terraces. These terrace deposits indicate a lower braided-lower meandering river. According to possible age intervals, other than S1, whole terraces maybe belong to Middle and Late Pleistocene
