Abstract

In this research, a psychometric device was developed in order to define the individual differences in academic motivation levels among students. An initial form consisting of 80 items was administered to 757 (388 female, 369 male) high schoolstudents from three cities and the data gathered from the administration
was used for the factor analysis study. As a result of a series of factor
analyses three factors emerged, consisting of 20 items and accounting
for the 42.2 % of the variance. It was indicated that the whole scale and
the factors have a good variability with respect to the internal
consistency and test-retest reliability. That the scale differentiates
statistically those who are supposed to have a good academic
motivation and those who not was presented as a support for validity. It
was evident from the results that the scale called Academic Motivation
Scale (AMS) as a valid and reliable instrument can be used in the field
of education.

Akademik Güdülenme Ölçeği: Geliştirmesi, Geçerliği, Güvenirliği

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, öğrencilerin akademik güdülenme düzeylerindeki bireysel farklılıkların belirlenmesinde kullanılabilecek bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir. Ölçeğin ön deneme formu olarak hazırlanan 80 madde, üç ayrı ilden 757 lise öğrencisine (388 kız, 369 erkek) uygulanmış, elde edilen veriler üzerinden faktör analizi çalışması yapılmıştır. Faktör analizleri sonucunda 20 maddeden oluşan ve toplam değişkenliğin % 42.2’sini açıklayan üç faktör elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin alt faktörlerde ve toplam puanda iç tutarlığa ve test-tekrar test güvenirliğine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Geçerlik çalışması, söz konusu ölçeğin, akademik güdülenme düzeyinin birbirinden farklılaşması beklenen grupları birbirinden ayırt ettiğini göstermektedir. Akademik Güdülenme Ölçeği (AGÖ) olarak adlandırılan ölçeğin, eğitim alanında kullanılabilecek, geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olduğu belirlenmiştir
