Abstract

Al-Tankiziyya Madrasa in Jerusalem as a Model of the Administration and Endowments (Waqf) of Schools in the Mamluk Period (730 AH/1329 AD) This study deals with the administration of the Madrasa Tankiziyya in Jerusalem and its waqf endowment as a model of waqf and madrasa administration during the Mamluk period (730/1329) through a discussion of three principle axes: The first introduces the endower (alAmīr Tankiz) and the recipient of the endowment (the Madrasa Tankiziyya), the second takes up the endowments made by Tankiz to the Madrasa Tankiziyya as they appear in the Waqfiyya document (ḥujjat waqf) of the madrasa itself, in addition to other endowments recorded in the Sijills of the Jerusalem Shari ah Court, Ottoman TAPU records, and other historical sources. As for the third and final axis, it deals with the administration of the madrasa and its educational system through its residents and employees, including their rights and their obligations

المدرسة التنكزية في القدس: نموذجا لإدارة المدارس وأوقافها في العصر المملوكي (730ه/1329م)

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Kudüs’teki Tenkiziyye Medresesi’ni ve vakfının idaresini, Memlûkler döneminde (730/1329) medrese ve vakıf yönetiminin bir örneği olarak incelemektedir. Konu üç ana açıdan ele alınmaktadır: ilk olarak, medreseyi vakfeden kişi olan el-Emīr Tenkiz ve vakfettiği medrese tanıtılmaktadır. İkinci olarak, el-Emīr Tenkiz’in Tenkiziyye Medresesi’ne vakfettiği mallar, bizatihi medresenin vakfiyesinde belirtildiği haliyle işlenmekte ve buna ek olarak Kudüs’teki Şer’iyye Mahkemesi sicillerinde, Osmanlı tapu kayıtlarında ve diğer tarihî belgelerde geçen vakıf malları ele alınmaktadır. Üçüncü ve son olarak, çalışma, medresenin idaresini ve eğitim sistemini, orada öğrenim görenlerin ve çalışanların hakları ve görevleri çerçevesinde incelemektedir
