COMPETITIVENESS OF THE TURKISH MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY AND A STUDY ON THE HOUSEHOLD APPUANCES INDUSTRY
Abstract
One of the crucial topics in economic literature is competitiveness. A lot of internadonal institutions publish an annual competitiveness report for sectors and countries. Recently, an impressive accomplishment for some sectors in Turkish economy is remarkable although developments in competitiveness carry out some negativeness. It is obvious that increase in exports of these sectors to both EU and rest of the world where competitiveness is very high, enhance economic performance of Turkey. One of these sectors is household appliances industry. The aim of this study is to analyze whether Turkish household appliance industry is competitive compared to EU and rest of the wodd with respect to factors which affect the sectoral or national competitiveness.
