ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND THE PERCEPTIONS

Year 2001, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 33 - 57, 01.05.2001

Abstract

The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of organizational culture that comprises assumptions, beliefs, values, norms, symbols and practices in the educational institutions and to determine the perceptions of students -a subculture of the academic organizations- about the organizational life. According to the empirical study conducted on the students of Akdeniz University, The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, the students have positive strong perceptions on communication with faculty members, symbols and identification dimensions. While the mostly perceptions identified the ineffectiveness of organizational structure dimension, no common perceptions were found on the effectiveness and outcomes of educational process. This result shows that, although the institution has a young culture, it could produce shared meanings, but the operation of organizational structure and educational processes have to be improved

EĞİTİM KURUMLARINDA ÖRGÜT KÜLTÜRÜ VE ÖĞRENCİ ALT KÜLTÜRÜNÜN ALGILAMALARI

Year 2001, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 33 - 57, 01.05.2001
