Abstract
It is a discipline that is highly influenced by the philosophy of architecture and directs the definition of being with the concepts of space and place. Places are places where people relate, change and connect, guiding positions. To reside is to form “existence judgments” of living things. According to Heidegger (1971), space is the relationship the house establishes with its surroundings and should not be perceived as a service produced by architects. Starting from the point of view of this escape Heidegger, first of all, the concepts directed by philosophy to architecture are explained. The aim is to explain that the project selected as an example does not correspond to the aforementioned concepts. In order to understand this process, the applications built to respond to the rapidly increasing housing needs in cities after the Industrial Revolution, the solutions produced by architects and theorists, and those that emerged depending on the architect's standardization were examined. Examined application; The Half a House project, designed by Elemental company for low-income forests, is an example of the idea of creating architecture and is interpreted through the concepts that philosophy adds to architecture. In the Half a House project, the architects, led by theorists, made an effort to include the user throughout the period, and by designing their own secret spaces, the concepts that philosophy brought to architecture, "dwelling", "making space", "encompassing existence" disappeared.
