Providing Digital Cooperation with Interactive Media Steer: The Use of QR Codes

Abstract

This study defines the quality and quantity of interactive media steers in magazines. Uses of web pages, social media, QR codes and mobile applications steers have become widespread in printed materials, which are in the traditional media category. With these kinds of applications in printed materials, the readers can be received additional information by directing to digital media. The aim of this study is to reveal in what ways the magazine readers directs to the digital world. In this context, the prevalence was analyzed by the use of QR (Quick Response) codes. In this study, content analyses were conducted to magazines in three different categories, which published in the year of 2012. In the content analyses, the qualıty and quantıty of interactive media steer in the magazines were analyzed. According to the findings, it can be said that the use of QR codes in magazines are in a rapid upward trend.

Abstract

Bu çalışma, dergilerdeki dijital ek bilgi yönlendirmelerinin niteliğini ve niceliğini tanımlamaktadır. Geleneksel medya kategorisindeki basılı araçlarda son yıllarda web sayfası adresi, sosyal medya, QR kod, mobile uygulama kullanımı yaygınlaşmaya başlamıştır. Basılı materyallerde yer alan bu türden uygulamalar ile okuyucular dijital ortamlara yönlendirilerek gereksinim duyabilecekleri ek bilgileri alabilmektedirler. Çalışmanın amacı dergi okuyucularının dijital dünyaya hangi yöntemlerle yönlendirildiğini ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda kare barkod olarak da ifade edilen QR (Quick Response) kod kullanımının yaygınlığı analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında 2012 yılında yayımlanmış 3 farklı kategoride yer alan dergilere yönelik içerik analizi yapılmıştır. İçerik analizinde, dergilerde etkileşimli ortam yönlendirmelerinin niteliği ve niceliği analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda QR kod uygulamasının kullanımının hızlı bir yükseliş eğilimi içerisinde olduğu söylenebilmektedir.
