OBEZ ÇOCUKLARIN ANNE/BABALARININ BEDEN KÜTLE İNDEKSLERİ BEDEN ALGILARINI ETKİLER Mİ?

Abstract

ÖZET:

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, obez çocukların anne/babalarında
şişmanlık durumunun saptanması ve algılanan ile gerçek beden ağırlığı
arasındaki ilişkiyi göstermektir.

Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu kesitsel tanımlayıcı çalışmada, Ocak-Mart 2015
tarihleri arasında Kırıkkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Metabolizma
Kliniği ve Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Ankara Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları
Hematoloji Onkoloji Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Diyet Ünitesi’ne başvuran
obez hastaların anne ve babaları [419 263 (%62,8) kadın, 156 (%37,2) erkek]
araştırma grubunu oluşturmuştur (yaş ortalaması 34±10,90 yıl). Veriler soru
formu ve Beden Algı skalası (Stunkard
scale
) kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Ayrıca her bireyin boy ve kilo
ölçümleri araştırmacılar tarafından yapılarak Beden Kütle İndeksleri (BKI)
hesaplanmıştır. İstatistiksel analizler SPSS 21 programı kullanılarak
yapılmıştır.

Bulgular : Araştırma grubunun BKI ortalaması 26,16±5,5 olup, tüm grup içinde fazla
tartılı oranı %32,7 ve şişman oranı ise %21,8 dir (%15,8 1. derece şişman, %4,3
2.derece şişman, %1,7 aşırı şişman) . Erkeklerde kadınlara göre fazla tartılı ve
şişman oranı fazla olup aradaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır (Tablo 3,
X2= 14,859 p= 0,011). Tüm grupta şişman ve aşırı şişman olanların algı
skalasında kendilerini bir alt grup olarak algıladıkları saptanmıştır. Zayıf
olanların %11,8’lik bir kısmı ise kendisini kilolu olarak değerlendirmiştir.
Öğrenim durumu ve mesleğinin beden ağırlığı algısı üzerine bir etkisi olmadığı
gösterilmiştir. (p>0.05). Skala değerleri ile algı değerleri
karşılaştırıldığında; %27.9’u uygun resmi, %54.2’si daha şişman, %17.9’u ise
daha zayıf resmi işaretlemiştir.

Sonuçlar: Obez çocuklarda tedavi öncesi anne/babaların beden
algısının değerlendirilmesi tedavi uyumunu artırmak ve ailelerin evde beslenme
biçimini değiştirmelerini sağlamak açısından yardımcı olacak bir uygulama
olacaktır.
