Abstract

Hernekadar elde
edilen sonuçlar henüz mental hastalıkların tanısında ve sınıflandırı!-
masında patognomonik olmasada, özellikle şizofreninin bazı formları
ile depresyonun değerlendirilmesine önemli katkıları olmuştur. Bir diger önemli husus, hastaya uygun tedavinin seçiminde ve tedaviye alınan yanıtın değerlendirilmesinde, halen kabul edilmiş olan klinik prametreler yanında önemli objektif kriter olacağıdır. Ayrıca kullanılan radyofarmasötiklerin geliştirilmesi, özellikle reseptör görüntülenmesine yönelik çalışmalar, bazı psikiyatrik hastalıkların etiopatogenezini aydınlatmada yardımcı olacaktır.

Abstract

After major contribution of PET studies to the assessment of schizophrenia and affective disorders, SPECT imaging also seems to be
promising. Especially recent developments in SPECT technology and
new radiopharmaceuticals have contributed significant advanceş in
the evaluation of mental disorders. Although the results are not yet
patognomonic for diagnosing and subtyping mental disorders, some
improvements were obtained in some forms of schizophrenia and
depression. In addition, SPECT receptor site imaging will be guite
useful to elucidate the underilying mechanisms responsible for some
phychiatric disease.
