Value of Listeria Monocytogenes «0» Agglutinins in the Definition of Listeriosis

Abstract

Between 1972 - 1978, 6156 patients sera were investigated for «O» agglutinins. All these patents had stiory of abortion, still birth and premature birth, agglutination titer of 1/320 and above regarded as positive. Positive agglution was seen % 15.02 with Listeria tip 1, % 10.74 with type
111, % 7.15 with type 4a, % 12.65 with type 4b. According to these results Listeria type 1 and 4b were most prominent. : Listeriosis causing abortion and still birth is very importent for mother and child care and public health.

Abstract

1972 - 1978 yılları arasında, 6156 hastanın serumunda Listeria monocytogenes «O» aglutininleri araştırıldı. Düşük, ölü doğum, prematürite gibi değişik sağlık sorunları bulunan bu hastalarda 1/320 ve üzerinde saptanan aglutinasyon- titreleri poztiif kabul edildi. Listeria tip 1 için % 15.02, tip 111 için % 10.74, tip 4a için % 7.15 ve tip - 4b için % 12.65 oranında pozitif aglutinasyon izlendi. Aglutinasyon sonuçlarına göre, Listeria tip 1 ve tip 4b nin daha yüksek düzeylerde bulunduğu düşünüldü. Listeriosis'in değişik klinik şekilleri izlenmektedir. Abortus ve ölü doğumların nedeni olabilmesi, toplum sağlığı yönünden önemini yansıtmaktadır.
