Review on Processus Supracondylaris
Abstract
Supracondylar process is a vestigial bony structure, located at the antero medial part of the distal humerus, 5 - 7 cm proximal to the medial epicondyle, similar to a peak that its end directed downwards, forwads and medially. Its incidence in human being is i per cent. The processes is connected to the medial epicondyle by a fibrous ligament, Struthers'ligament. A fibro - osseus canal is for med so that brachial artery, brachial vein and median nerve pass through the canal. This formation is foramen in form in cats, lemur, panter and monkey.
Although its occurence with a well - defined clinical syndrome has received very little attention in the medical literature, because of its fractures and neuro vasculer symtoms•caused by this process it bears a great importance in the departments of orthopaedics, physical theraphy and rehabilitation, neurosurgery and radiology.
