Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effects of prolonged severe thirst, hunger and thirst and hunger on survival, body weight and rectal temperature in guinea pigs that underwent partial and total adrenalectomy and to determine the changes in temperature before death. As a result, it was observed that the survival time was shorter and the weight loss was greater in guinea pigs with adrenalectomy that were subjected to thirst and hunger experiments compared to normal animals. It was determined that the rectal temperature decreased significantly before death, but this decrease was not different from each other. Thus, it was seen that the adrenals had a significant effect on survival and weight loss in cases of severe thirst and hunger.

Parsiyel ve Total Sürrenalektomi Yapılmış Kobaylarda Susuzluğun, Açlığın ve Susuzlukla Birlikte Açlığın Yaşama Süresi, Ağırlık Kaybı ve Rektal Isı Üzerine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmamız parsiyel ve total sürrenalektomi yapılmış kobaylarda uzun süreli şiddetli susuzluğun, açlığın ve susuzlukla birlikte açlığın yaşama süresi, beden ağırlığı ve rektal 1sı üzerine etkilerini incelemek ve ölümden önce ısı bakımından ortaya çıkan değişiklikleri tesbit etmek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak susuzluk ve açlık deneylerine tâbi tutulmuş sürrenalektomili kobaylarda normal hayvanlara nazaran yaşama sürelerinin daha kısa ve ağırlık kayıplarının daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Ölümden önce rektal ısının büyük ölçüde
düştüğü, fakat bu düşüşün birbirinden farklı olmadığı tesbit edilmiştir. Böylece şiddetli susuzluk ve açlık hallerinde sürrenallerin yaşama süresi ve ağırlık kaybı üzerinde önemli bir etkisi bulunduğu görülmüştür.
