Effects of humate and plant extracts mixture addition to diets on performance and some bloodparameters in laying hen rations

Abstract

This study has been conducted to determine the effects of humate and plant extract mixture on egg production, feed intake, feed efficiency, egg yield and quality parameters and some blood parameters (cholesterol, trigliserid, total protein) in laying hens. In this trial; 24 weeks old, 200 layers (Hyline White-98) were divided into four treatment groups each of them also divided into 10 subgroups which contain five layers for each. The experiment carried out one control and 3 treatments (1.5 g/kg humate supplementation, 0.75 g/kg plant extract mixture supplementation and 1.5 g/kg humate plus 0.75 plant extract mixture combination supplemented). The experiment has been continued 16 weeks. At the end of trial, supplementation of feed additives had no significant effects about body weight, feed intake, egg weights, egg quality parameters and some blood parameters (cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein and antibody titers) whereas they had negative effects on egg production and feed efficiency compare with the control (p<0.05). As a conclusion, these effects of feed additives must be examined with different levels of addition doses or different age of laying hens with new trials
