Tarsal artrodesis in an Anatolian shepherd dog

Abstract

Tarsal instability was determined in 6-year-old, male, Kangal breed dog. In clinical examination decrease in range of motion, crepitation and a firm swelling around the joint, in radiological examination, intertarsal instability, tarsometatarsal luxation, periarticular and intraarticular osteophytosis was observed. In the treatment , intertarsal artrodesis was performed with a 12 holed, 4.5 mm in screw diamater dynamic compression plate. Functional improvement of the extremity was observed at the 3rd monthpostoperatively

Kangal ırkı bir köpekte tarsal artrodez olgusu

Abstract

6 yaşlı, Kangal ırkı, erkek bir köpekte tarsal instabilite belirlendi. Klinik muayenede tarsal eklem çevresinde sert kıvamlı bir şişkinlik ile eklemde hareket kısıtlılığı ve krepitasyon; radyolojik muayenede ise intertarsal instabilite, tarsometatarsal luksasyon, periartiküler ve intraartiküler osteofitozis gözlendi. Sağaltımda, 4.5 mm vida çaplı,12 delikli bir dinamik kompresyon plağıyla intertarsal artrodez uygulandı. Postoperatif 3. ayda ilgili ektremitenin fonksiyonel olarak kullanıldığı gözlendi
