KEDİDE MENİNGİOMA OLAYI

Abstract

Suınmary: A 14-year-old, female cat demonstrating blindness, paralysis, and encephalitic symptoms (also suspected ofrabies) was examined. During the last ten days a graduallose of apetite, ineoordination and hitting the objects on her way when she walks, suddenjumpings followed by a deep sleep were noticed. A nut sized, grayish-pink colored, well defined mass localizcd in the left (ılfactory bul b area was the only necropsy findingo The mass caused deformation of hemisphercs, and marked flattening of su1ci and gyri by its existence and exerted pressure by growing in expenee of brain volume. The cerebellum was pushed backward, into the occipital foramen magnum, and its ,,"orms was flattened too, by the pressure of bone. No gross infiltration or neoplastic invasion was detectable, though the meninges were seemed edematous and swollen with some opacity around the tumor mass. The detailed histologic examinations revealcd the onion-like arrangement of well dcfined tumor eells, precipitated ca1cium in the central portion of whorls resembling a smail blood vessel that underwent to hyalinous degeneration, as wc re ealled psammoma bodics based on their gross appearanee. Some necrotic are as wc re seen in tumor, perivascular lymphoid infiltration and neuronal aegeneration were present in the brain (meningo-eneephalitis) Özet: Körük, paraliz ve ensefalit beldekleri gösterip kuduzdan da şüpheli olan 14 yaşındaki dişi bir kedi'nin beyninde, sol bulbus olfaktorius üzerinde, fındık iriliğinde, sınırları belirgin, gri-pembe renkli bir tümör tesbit edilmiştir. Histolojik yoklamasında, özel hücre düzeni ve kalsiyum tuzları çöküntüleri görülen "psammomateuse meningioma" olduğu anlaşılmıştır.,
