Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Principles of Research and Publication Ethics

In scientific manuscripts submitted to AYAD, the guidelines related to Scientific Research and Publication Ethics of Higher Education Institutions, ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) International Standards for Editors and Authors should be taken into consideration. Plagiarism, falsification or misrepresentation of data, duplication of publication, divisional publication, and the inclusion of people who have not contributed to the research among the authors are unacceptable practices within the ethical rules. In case of any ethical irregularities related to these and similar practices, necessary legal actions will be taken.

a) Plagiarism: Making the original ideas, methods, data or works of others look like their own work in whole or in part without reference to scientific rules is handled within the scope of plagiarism. In order to avoid plagiarism, authors should refer to scientific rules and pay attention to the source representation of all scientific articles in their research.

b) Forgery of Data: Using data that does not actually exist or has been changed in scientific research is considered within the scope of data forgery. Authors should collect their data within the ethical rules and analyze them without subjecting them to a change that will affect validity and reliability in the process.

c) Distortion: Changing the records or data obtained from the research, pretending that the devices or materials not used in the research have been used, changing or shaping the research results in line with the interests of the individuals and organizations supported are handled within the scope of distortion. Authors should be honest, objective and transparent in the information they provide about the research process. They should avoid violating the ethical rules.

d) Repetition of Publication: Presenting the same publication as separate publications without referring to previous publications is handled within the scope of repetition of publication. The responsibility for the publication of the publications submitted for evaluation elsewhere or in the evaluation process belongs entirely to the authors. Authors should avoid repetition and take care to submit their original and original research.

e) Splitting Publishing: The results of a research are divided into parts in a way that disrupts the integrity of the research and improperly and published in more than one number, and these publications are presented as separate publications. Authors should consider the integrity of the research and avoid chapters that will affect the results.

f) Unfair Authorship: Including people who have not contributed to the research among the authors or not including people who have contributed to the research is considered within the scope of unfair authorship. All authors should have contributed adequately to the stages of planning, design, data collection, analysis, evaluation, preparation for publication and finalization of the research.

Evaluation Process

The articles submitted to the Journal of Aydin Arabic Studies (AYAD) are evaluated by two referees. If one of the referees gives a negative opinion and the other gives a positive opinion, the Editorial Board examines the referee reports and determines the process of the article by sending it to a third referee or returning it to the article author. At least two referees must give a positive opinion before the article can be published. Articles are controlled by Turnitin and/or iThenticate plagiarism software. After the reports of the referees are completed, the articles are ready for publication if approved by the Editorial Board and published in the appropriate number, taking into account the order of acceptance.
