THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE EUROPEAN UNION RELATIONS
Abstract
An analysis of the European Union and the Russian Federation relations in 1991-2021 is given in the article. The author divides the epoch into two main periods: the path to strategic partnership (1991-2013) and the collapse of links (2014-2021). The reasons for the degradation of the RF and the EU relations are investigated. The author reveals the cardinal contradictions between the attempts to build the Greater Europe and to restore the role of Russia as a Great Power after the Cold War.
