Abstract
Deprem kuşağında yer alan ülkemizden önemli fay hatları geçmektedir. Bu fay hatlarının en aktiflerinden sayılan Kuzey Anadolu Fayı ile Doğu Anadolu Fayı’nın kesişim noktasında yer alan Bingöl coğrafyası, son yüzyıl içerisinde birçok depremin yaşandığı merkezlerden olmuştur. Yaşanılan şiddetli depremler sonucunda büyük oranda can kayıpları yaşanmıştır. Aynı zamanda depremlerin oluşturduğu psikososyal ve sosyoekonomik neticeler pek çok olumsuzluğu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Özellikle 1949 Karlıova, 1971 ve 2003 Bingöl depremleri, yöre insanı üzerinde en fazla etki bırakan depremlerdendir. Şiddet dereceleri yüksek hissedilen bu depremler, can kayıplarıyla birlikte, bölgede ağır tahribatlar doğurmuştur. Konutların yapı malzemesi ve fayların uzayış biçimi de ortaya çıkan can kaybı ve hasar üzerinde menfi yönde sonuçlar doğurduğuna tanık olunmuştur. Çevre illerde vuku bulan kimi depremlerden de etkilenilmiştir. Örneğin, 1966 Varto Depremi, bu nitelikte bir sarsıntı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. 1930’lardan itibaren Bingöl’de meydana gelen, maddi ve manevi hasar oluşturan depremler, dönemin kaynakları ve konuyla ilgili eserler irdelenerek okurun istifadesine sunulmuştur.

- Our country is in seismic zone,so important fault lines pass through our country. Bingöl is stuated in a place where the most dynamic fault lines have intersected such as North Anatolian Fault and East Anatolian Fault ,so Bingöl has became centre of earthquake in the last century. As a result of severe earthquakes, casualties have occured on a large scale. Besides, pisco-social and pisco-economical consequances have also lead to negative results. Especially, 1949 Karlıova, 1971 and 2003, Bingöl earthquakes have lead to very important effects upon indigenous people. People have been severely affected by these erthquakes, they have lead to not only casualties but also destruction. It has been witnessed that the building material and the extension of fault lines have negatively resulted in casualties and material damage. Bingöl has been affected by earthquakes which occured in close city. For example, 1966 Varto Earthquake can be evaluated as this type earthquake. The earthquakes have resulted in material and moral damages in Bingöl since 1930s, and the earthuaquakes have been presented in this paper for readers.
