Abstract
Religious education in Kosova continued from Ottoman conquest of Balkans to the year 1912. After 1912, Serbians made all their effort to prevent the religious education and services of Muslims, closing mosques and Muslim religious schools (madrasah). Thus, they tried to uproot both moral values and national identity of the community. However, despite all these difficulties Kosovan muslims succeeded to preserve their religion, tradition and religious education. In this study we turn on the history, operation and cirriculum of the madrasas and Islamic Research Center (Faculty of Divinity/Theology) in Prishtina/Kosovo.
