Fiziksel Yetersizliği Olan Lise Öğrencilerinin ve İşverenlerin İhtiyaç ve Beklentilerinin Rehabilitasyon Psikolojik Danışmanlığı Kapsamında Ele Alınması: Bir Gömülü Teori Çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı rehabilitasyon psikolojik danışmanlığı kapsamında fiziksel yetersizliği olan öğrencilerin her bir gelişim alanına göre ihtiyaç ve beklentilerini, yaşadıkları sorunları, baş etme kaynaklarını, mesleki gelişimlerini derinlemesine keşfetmek ve yetersizliği olan bireyleri istihdam eden işverenlerin bu kapsamda görüşlerini alarak elde edilen verilere dayalı bir model geliştirmektir. Bu amaçtan hareketle nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan gömülü teori kullanılmıştır. Veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerle toplanmış ve veri toplama sürecinde araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Görüşme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Veriler açık, eksen ve seçici kodlamaya göre ele alınarak analiz edilmiş, çekirdek kategori, kategoriler ve alt kategoriler oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda fiziksel yetersizliği olan bireyler ve işverenler açısından “yetersizliğe sahip olmak” kavramı çekirdek kategori olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çekirdek kategoriye bağlı olarak hem fiziksel yetersizliği olan bireyler boyutunda hem de işverenler boyutunda kategoriler ve alt kategoriler oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma sonucuna göre lise dönemindeki 14-18 yaş arasındaki yetersizliği olan lise öğrencileri güçlü yönlerini keşfetmeye, etkili baş etme becerilerini öğrenmeye, etkili rol modellere ve destekleyici ilişkilere sahip olmaya ihtiyaç duymakta; eğitsel ve mesleki alanda başarılı olma ve yetenekleri doğrultusunda, diğer insanlara yardım edebilecekleri bir işe yerleşme şeklinde önemli beklentilere sahipken romantik alanda beklentilere sahip değildir. Her iki grup içinde sonraki çalışmalarda yapılabilecek uygulamalar ve araştırmalar için öneriler sunulmuştur.

Examination of Needs and Expectations of High School Students with Physical Disabilities and Employers in the Scope of Rehabilitation Counseling: A Grounded Theory Study

Abstract

This study aims to explore the needs and expectations of students with physical disabilities and their professional development within the scope of rehabilitation psychological counseling and to develop a model based on the data obtained by taking the opinions of employers who employ individuals with disabilities. For this purpose, grounded theory, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The data were collected through semi structured interviews, and the "Interview Form" developed by the researcher was used during the data collection process. The data were analyzed according to open, axis, and selective coding, and core categories, categories, and sub-categories were created. As a result of the research, the concept of "having a disability" was determined as the core category for individuals with physical disabilities and employers. Depending on this core category, categories and sub-categories were created both in the dimension of individuals with physical disabilities and in the dimension of employers. According to the results of the study, high school students with disabilities between the ages of 14-18 need to discover their strengths, learn effective coping skills, have effective role models and supportive relationships; they have important expectations of being successful in the educational and professional fields and getting a job where they can help other people in line with their abilities, but they do not have expectations in the romantic field. Suggestions for applications and research that can be done in future studies in both groups are presented.
