Abstract

G.V. Aznavour tarafından Yalova’dan toplanan örneklere dayalı olarak bilim dünyasına
Centaurea pythiae olarak tanıtılan takson Türkiye Florası yazılırken, Centaurea amasiensis
altında sinonim olarak verilmiştir. Daha sonra ise bu tür yeniden canlandırılıp
Rhaponticoides pythiae olarak yeniden değerlendirilmiştir. Bu tür günümüze kadar uzun bir
süre aranmış, ancak bir flora çalışması sırasında 2010 yılında yeniden toplanmıştır. Kocaeli,
Safiye Köyü’nde çok kısıtlı bir alanda yetişen bu türün tehdit kategorisi CR (B2ab(i,ii,iii)
olarak önerilmiştir.
