Interpretation of Turkish Marine Algae in Lamouroux 1822

Abstract

A re-examination of the specimens of Turkish marine algae reported by Lamouroux 1822 and now housed in the Caen University France Herbarium has been made, and observations on their present taxonomic and nomenclatural status are offered. Gymnogongrus griffithsiae Turner Martius var. tristis J.V.Lamour. E.Taşkın comb. nov., Lomentaria clavellosa Lightfoot ex Turner Gaillon f. urvillei J.V.Lamour. E.Taşkın comb. nov., Ceramium virgatum Roth var. implexo-contortum Solier E.Taşkın comb. nov., and Ceramium virgatum Roth var. tenue C.Agardh E.Taşkın comb. nov. are proposed
