Abstract

Bu araştırma, 1980-1985 yılları arasında, seleksiyonun 1. kademesinde seçilen 24 kestane tip ve çeşidinden 19’unun aynı koşullardaki verimlilik, erkencilik ve diğer özelliklerini kıyaslamak amacıyla yapılmıştır. İlk üç verim yılında incelenen özellikler belirli ölçülere göre puanlanmış, elde edilen veriler tartılı derecelendirme (Weighted-Rankit) yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirmeye esas alınan nitelikler yanında, tomurcuklarda patlama, çiçeklenme zamanlan, çiçek yapılan, önemli hastalıklardan zararlanma ve kuraklığa tolerans yönünden de gözlem ve incelemeler yapılmıştır. Tipler hem genel kalite hem de irilik, erkencilik ve kestane hamuru yapımına uygunluk gibi ekonomik nitelikler yönünden ayrı ayrı değerlendirilmişler ve aldıkları puanlara göre sıralanmışlardır. Seleksi yonun bu kademesinde elde edilen sonuçlar bazı istisnalarla 1. kademeye paralel olmuştur. Tipler arasında verime başlama, toplam verimlilik ve kalite özellikleri açısından önemli farklılıklar saptanmıştır. İlk üç verim yılından elde edilen sonuçlara göre ön sıralarda yer alan ve üretim için önerilebilecek tipler şunlardır: İri tipler: 51205 (Sarıaşlama, klon-2), 61316 (Dursun kestanesi), 52104 (Sarı Kestane), 63110 (Seyrekdiken), 52509 (Sarıaşlama, Klon-3); Erkenci tipler: 51209, 51101 (Osmanoğlu), 62309 (Firdola), 62305 (Hacıibiş), 62304 (Karamehmet), Kestane hamuruna uygun tipler: 51205 (Sarıaşlama, Klon-2), 63110 (Seyrekdiken), 52214 (Hacıömer). Ayrıca 52112 (Vakit Kestanesi), 51206 no.lu tipleri de üretimde değerlendirmek mümkündür.

Selection of Chestnut Cultivars (Castanea sativa Mill.) in Marmara Region

Abstract

This study was conducted on 19 of the 24 chestnut cultivars or types which selected in the first step of selection by the aim to compare the productivity, earliness and other characteristics of the types under the same condition. The characteristics which were studied, in the first three years of cropping was pointed according to the scale determined before and the data was evaluated by the Weighted-Rankit method. Besides of these characteristics which were evaluated, the time of bud burst and flowering, flower morphology, damages due to the important diseases were also observed and noticed. The types were evaluated separately both their general quality and other important characters such as size of the nut, earliness, suitability to chestnut paste, and they were ordered according to their scores. The results presented here were highly similar to those obtained from the first step of the selection with some exceptions. Important differences were determined among the types and cultivars in connection with their total productivity, earliness in bearing age and other qualitative characters. According to the first three cropping years results the following types have taken the first rows in the orders and could be recommended for the production. For nut size: 51205 (Sarıaşlama, Clone-2), 61316 (Dursun Kestanesi), 51204 (Sarı Kestane), 63110 (Seyrekdiken), 52509 (Sarıaşlama, Clone-3); For earliness: 51209, 51101 (Osmanoğlu), 62309 (Firdola), 62305 (Hacıibiş), 62304 (Karamehmet), For chestnut paste: 51205 (Sarıaşlama, Clone- 2), 63110 (Seyrekdiken), 52214 (Hacıömer), The type members of 52112 (Vakit Kestanesi) and 51206 could also be evaluated in the production.
