Abstract

Türkiye'de tatlı ve ekşi kiraz potansiyeli mevcut olsa da çeşitler ve bahçeler karışık olduğundan ağaç başına verim düşüktür. Bu nedenle üretim maliyetleri yüksektir. Üretim tekniklerinin yetersizliği nedeniyle meyvelerin kalitesi tatmin edici değildir. Türkiye, Avrupa pazarına ulaşmak için diğer rekabetçi ülkelere göre daha uzun mesafeler kat etmek zorundadır. Bu coğrafi konum, diğer ihracatçı ülkelerle rekabet olanaklarını azaltmaktadır. İhracat olanaklarını artırmak için "sezon dışı" kiraz üretimini hedeflemek gerekmektedir. Kirazlarda standardizasyon ve pazarlama organizasyonu için bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Kirazın bir ihracat yöntemi olarak işlenmesi henüz düşünülmemiştir. Türkiye düşük maliyetle kaliteli kiraz üretebilirse, diğer ülkelerle rekabet etmesi ve taze kirazlarımız ve işlenmiş vişnelerimiz için pazar bulması imkânsız değildir.

Marketing Problems of Sweet and Sour Cherries in Turkey

Abstract

Turkey has potentiality for sweet and sour cherries but varieties and orchards are mixed, yield per tree is low. For these reasons production cost is high. Because of the poor techniques of production quality of the fruits is not satisfactory. Turkey has to cross longer distance to reach European Market than the other competitive countries. This geographical position reduces competition possibilities with other exporter countries. To increase export possibilities, it is necessary to aim at “out of season” cherry production. There is no study on cherries for standardization and marketing organization. Processing of cherry as a way of export has not been considered yet. If Turkey can produce good quality cherries at a low cost it is not impossible to compete with other countries and to find market for our Fresh cherries and processed sour cherries.
