Ketuba / Jewish marriage contract in the Judaism

Abstract

Judaism is one of the most ancient and influencial religions in the World. Passing through many difficulties, preserving its values up to day constitutes the basic forms of the Judaism. Formulating the Jewish Law /Alaha, besides “written law” and rabbis interpretations which the other name “oral law” is very effective in Judaism. Marriage is considered as a testament in Judaism. Also marriage is a holy act like relationship between Moses and God. In this essay we search the Jewish marriage contract/Ketuba which has got great importance and ınfluence on Jewish people.

Yahudilikte Ketuba

Abstract

Yahudilik, yeryüzünde yaşayan en eski ve etkili dinlerden birisidir. Günümüze kadar birçok zorluklardan geçerek yaşama imkânı bulan kural ve kaideler, Yahudiliği ayakta tutmuş, bu değerlerin korunmasında etkili olmuştur. Yahudi hukuku/Alaha oluşma aşamasında yazılı kutsal metinlerin yanında, Rabbi denilen din âlimlerinin bu yazılı metinlerden çıkardıkları “sözlü yasa” oldukça etkili olmuştur. Evlilik, Yahudilik açısından bir anlaşma niteliği taşımaktadır. Ayrıca evlilik, Musa ile Tanrı arasındaki ilişkiye benzetilmiş, kendisine kutsal bir anlam yüklenmiştir. İşte bu yüzden bu çalışmada, Yahudi hukukunda önemli bir yeri bulunan evlilikle bağlantılı, olmazsa olmaz şartlardan sayılabilecek Yahudi evlilik sözleşmesi/ketuba kavramını araştırmak hedeflenmektedir.
