Abstract

Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 32.94±7.63 yıl olup (min-maks:22-64), %89.6’ı kadın, %49.0’unun geliri giderine eşit, %78.7’i lisans mezunudur. Hemşirelerin ölçek toplam puan ortalaması 2.400.65’tir (min-maks=1-4). Hemşirelerin yaş ortalamaları (p<0.001), hemşire olarak çalışma süreleri (p<0.001), eğitim durumları (p:0.045), bilgisayar/hemşirelik bilişimi hakkında kurs, sempozyum, toplantıya katılma durumları (p<0.005), bilgisayar kullanım becerileri (p<0.001) ve bakımda bilgi teknolojisi kullanımı gerekliliği hakkındaki düşüncelerinin (p:0.043) hemşirelik bilişim yetkinliğini etkilediği saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Hemşirelerin hemşirelik bilişim yetkinliklerinin istendik düzeyde olmadığı bulunmuştur. Hemşirelerin hemşirelik bilişimine ilişkin yetkinliklerinin düzenli aralıklarla belirlenmesi ve bu alana uygun güncel eğitim programlarının oluşturularak hemşirelerin bilişim konusundaki yetkinliklerinin sürdürülmesi ve geliştirilmesi önerilmektedir.

Abstract

Aim: This study was conducted to determine the nursing informatics competencies and related factors of nurses working in the internal and surgical units of a university hospital. Materials and Methods: The descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 202 nurses working in the internal and surgical units of a university hospital between July and August 2021. A purposeful sampling method was used. The data were collected using the sociodemographic characteristics form showing the descriptive characteristics of the participants and the TIGER-based assessment of nursing informatics competencies. The assessment of the data was carried out by researchers using the SPSS 24.0 program. Number, percentage, mean, independent groups t test, mann whitney-u test, kruskal wallis test and pearson correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Results: The average age of the nurses was 32.94±7.63 years (min-max:22-64), 89.6% were women, 49.0% had an income equal to expenses, and 78.7% had a bachelor's degree. The total score average of the scale of nurses is 2.40±0.65 (min-max=1-4). Average age of nurses (p<0.001), working time as a nurse (p<0.001), educational status (p:0.045), participation in computer/nursing informatics courses, symposiums, meetings (p<0.005), computer usage skills (p<0.001) and their thoughts about the necessity of using information technology in care (p:0.043) were found to affect nursing informatics competence. Conclusion: Nursing informatics competencies of nurses were not at the desired level. It is recommended to determine the competencies of nurses about nursing informatics regularly and to sustainable and develop the competencies of nurses in informatics by creating current training programs suitable for this field.
