Yunan Öğrencilerin Gözünden Türkçe: Karşılaşılan Zorluklar ve Öğrenmeye Etki Eden Faktörler

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Yunan öğrencilerin yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğrenme süreçlerinde karşılaştıkları dilsel zorlukları ve öğrenmeyi etkileyen temel faktörleri incelemektedir. Yabancı dil öğrenimi bağlamında, öğrencilerin Türkçe öğrenmeye ilişkin algıları, motivasyonları ve öğrenme deneyimleri betimsel bir çerçevede ele alınmıştır. Çalışma, öğrenci deneyimlerine dayalı olarak Türkçenin yabancı dil olarak öğretimine yönelik pedagojik çıkarımlar sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, karma yöntem yaklaşımıyla yürütülmüştür. Veriler, kapalı uçlu, Likert ölçekli ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmış bir anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu, Atina Ulusal ve Kapodistrian Üniversitesi Türkoloji ve Çağdaş Asya Çalışmaları Bölümü’nde öğrenim gören 35 lisans öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Nicel veriler betimsel istatistiklerle, nitel veriler ise tematik analiz yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Bulgular, öğrencilerin en çok söz dizimi ve kelime bilgisi alanlarında zorlandıklarını göstermektedir. Anadili Türkçe olanlarla etkileşim ve özgün dil girdisi öğrenmeyi destekleyen unsurlar olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca motivasyon, kültürel geçmiş ve öğretim elemanının rolü önemli faktörlerdir. Bulgular, öğrenci merkezli ve etkileşim temelli öğretim yaklaşımlarının önemini ortaya koymaktadır.

Turkish From the Perspective of Greek Students: Challenges and Factors Affecting Learning

Abstract

This study examines the linguistic challenges experienced by Greek students learning Turkish as a foreign language and identifies the key factors influencing their learning process. Within the context of foreign language learning, the study explores students’ perceptions, motivations, and learning experiences through a descriptive framework. It aims to provide pedagogical implications for teaching Turkish as a foreign language based on learners’ experiences. The study adopts a mixed – methods approach. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire including closed – ended, Likert – scale, and open – ended questions. The participants consisted of 35 undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Turkish Studies and Contemporary Asian Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that students experience the greatest difficulties in syntax and vocabulary. Interaction with native speakers and exposure to authentic language input were found to support the learning process. Additionally, motivation, cultural background, and instructor support emerged as key factors. The findings highlight the importance of student – centered and interaction – based approaches in teaching Turkish as a foreign language.
