TREATMENT OF CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME WITH NEURAL THERAPY

Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common compression neuropathies. CTS can be associated with many diseases, however most cases of CTS are of unknown cause. Looking from the viewpoint of neural therapy, the chronic irritation of autonomic nerve fibers by any stress factor may cause dysfunction and impairment in perfusion and lymphatic drainage. Impairment of tissue perfusion causes ischemia and impairment of lymphatic drainage causes edema and accumulation of toxic substances in extracellular space. Hence, the pressure in the carpal tunnel increases and this may cause intraneural changes. Due to autonomic dysfunction, thickening of the connective tissues (fascia, tendon sheath etc.), fibrous bands, increased tonus and stress in muscles may lead to the compression of median nerve. The success of neural therapy depends on the stimulation of sympathetic fibers

KARPAL TÜNEL SENDROMUNUN NÖRALTERAPİ İLE TEDAVİSİ

Abstract

Karpal tünel sendromu (KTS) en sık görülen tuzak nöropatisidir. Bu tabloya neden olan çok sayıda hastalık gösterilmişse de çoğu olgunun nedeni bulunamaz. Nöralterapi açısından bakıldığında, vejetatif liflerin herhangi bir stres faktörü tarafından kronik uyarısı ile oluşan disfonksiyonu, perfüzyonun ve lenfatik drenajın bozulmasına neden olur. Perfüzyonun bozulması iskemiye neden olurken; lenfatik drenajın bozulması, ekstraselüler alanda ödem ve toksik maddelerin birikimi sayesinde kanal içi basıncını artırarak intranöral değişikliklere neden olabilir. Diğer taraftan vejetatif disfonksiyon varlığı, bağ dokusunda kalınlaşmalara (fasya, tendon kılıfı vb.), fibröz bant oluşumu ve adalelerde tonus artışı ve gerginliklere neden olarak, sinirin sıkışmasına neden olur. Nöralterapinin tedavideki başarısı da sempatik lifler üzerinden iletilen uyarıların etkisiyle gerçekleşir
