In this study, high density fiberboard was manufactured by using dry process. The effects of press temperature
and pressure on physical and mechanical properties were investigated. The fibers were obtained from SFC MDF
mill consisting of 70% Pinus spp. and 30% hardwoods. The laboratory conditions were as fallows; pres
temperatures were 160-170-180-190 °C, pressure as 50-55 kg/cm2, total pressing time as 100 seconds. The HDF
produced had 5±0,2 mm and having the density of 1,02-1,12 g/cm3. The physical and mechanical properties of
the panels were determined according to TS EN standards. It was found that increasing temperature and pressure
had positive effect on the properties.
