Volatile Chemical components of Climbing Plant (Hedera helix L.) Leaves

Abstract

It has seen that synthetic products are now being disregarded, but there is an increase in the use of non-wood forest products and medical plants used for different purposes in all areas of our lives. Hedera helix L., which is the subject of the study, is a climbing plant that is often used for medicinal purposes that surrounds trees and walls and we see them around us almost every day. The leaves samples of Hedera helix L. were collected from the designated areas in the Western Black Sea region during the vegetation period, and the leaf volatile components were determined by solid-based micro extraction (SPME) method. As of forty-six different components were detected in Hedera helix L.'s leaf-volatile oil, the benzaldehyde, one of the main components in the leaves, was found 34.41% as the highest and Propanoate was found as the lowest as 0.17%. In addition, Ethyl acetate, Caryophyllene, 3-Methyl-1-butanol, alpha.-Humulene, Limonene and Styrene are the most found ingredients. In the study, the results obtained by chemical analysis of the volatile oil components of Hedera helix L, which is the naturally spread in the Western Black Sea, were discussed with previous studies and it will be a light for the future relevant studies carried out in the world and in Turkey.

Orman Sarmaşığı (Hedera helix L.) Yaprağının Uçucu Bileşenleri

Abstract

Sentetik ürünlerden günümüzde uzaklaşıldığı, bununla birlikte hayatımızın her alanında farklı amaçlar için kullanılan odun dışı orman ürünlerinin ve tıbbi bitkilerin kullanımında artış olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışma konusu olan Hedera helix L. (orman sarmaşığı) genellikle hemen her gün çevremizde gördüğümüz ağaç ve duvara sarılan tıbbi amaçlı kullanılan bir tırmanıcı bitkidir. Sentetik ürünlerden günümüzde uzaklaşıldığı, bununla birlikte hayatımızın her alanında farklı amaçlar için kullanılan odun dışı orman ürünlerinin ve tıbbi bitkilerin kullanımında artış olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışma konusu olan Hedera helix L. (orman sarmaşığı) genellikle hemen her gün çevremizde gördüğümüz ağaç ve duvara sarılan tıbbi amaçlı kullanılan bir tırmanıcı bitkidir. Hedera helix L.’nin yaprakları Batı Karadeniz bölgesinde belirlenen alanlardan vejetasyon döneminde toplanarak, yaprak uçucu bileşenleri katı tabanlı mikro ekstraksiyon (SPME) yöntemiyle tespit edilmiştir. Hedera helix L.’nin yaprak uçucu yağında 46 farklı bileşen tespit edilmiş olup, ana bileşenlerden Benzaldehyde yaprakta %34,41 oranla en yüksek değerde, Propanoate yaprakta %0,17 ile en az değerde tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanısıra Ethyl acetate, Caryophyllene, 3-Methyl-1-butanol, alpha.-Humulene, Limonene ve Styrene en fazla bulunan bileşenler olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada Batı Karadeniz’de doğal yayılışı olan Hedera helix L nin tespit edilen uçucu yağ bileşenlerinin yapısının araştırılarak daha farklı çalışmalara ışık tutacağı düşüncesiyle elde edilen sonuçlar dünyada ve ülkemizde yapılan ilgili çalışmalar ışığında tartışılmıştır.
