Yerel Halkın Yavaş Şehir Hareketine Bakış Açısı: Gerze Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Yavaş Şehir (Cittaslow) hareketinin yerel halk tarafından nasıl algılandığını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, Yavaş Şehir ağına dâhil olan Gerze ilçesinde yaşayan yerel halk örnekleminde nicel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülmüştür. Veriler anket tekniğiyle toplanmış; kullanılan ölçüm aracının yapısal geçerliliği keşfedici faktör analizi, güvenirliği ise Cronbach Alpha katsayısı ile test edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları, Yavaş Şehir algısının dört boyutlu bir yapı sergilediğini ve çevresel, kültürel ve refah boyutlarının yüksek düzeyde iç tutarlılığa sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Buna karşılık, ekonomik etki boyutunun görece daha zayıf algılandığı belirlenmiştir. Bulgular, Yavaş Şehir anlayışının yerel halk nezdinde öncelikle yaşam kalitesini artırmaya, çevresel sürdürülebilirliği desteklemeye ve yerel kültürel değerleri korumaya yönelik bir yaklaşım olarak benimsendiğini göstermektedir. Çalışma, Yavaş Şehir uygulamalarının yerel halk perspektifinden çok boyutlu biçimde değerlendirilmesine katkı sunmakta ve sürdürülebilir yerel kalkınma politikalarına yönelik çıkarımlar ortaya koymaktadır.

Local Community Attitudes toward the Cittaslow Movement: A Case Study of Gerze

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the Slow City (Cittaslow) movement is perceived by local residents. The research was conducted using a quantitative research design based on a sample of local residents living in the district of Gerze, which is a member of the Slow City network. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey; the structural validity of the measurement instrument was tested using exploratory factor analysis, and its reliability was assessed through Cronbach’s alpha coefficients. The results indicate that perceptions of the Slow City movement exhibit a four-dimensional structure and that the environmental, cultural, and well-being dimensions demonstrate high levels of internal consistency. In contrast, the economic impact dimension was found to be perceived relatively weakly. Overall, the findings suggest that the Slow City approach is primarily perceived by local residents as an initiative aimed at enhancing quality of life, supporting environmental sustainability, and preserving local cultural values. This study contributes to a multidimensional evaluation of Slow City practices from the perspective of local residents and provides implications for sustainable local development policies.
