Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

ARTICLE TEMPLATE

In order for manuscripts submitted to BATÜ-TDF to be considered for review, they must be prepared in accordance with the rules outlined below. Manuscripts that do not comply with the formatting requirements will not be processed.

Page Layout

Manuscripts must be submitted only in Microsoft Word format. All submissions must be prepared in accordance with the official journal template. Manuscripts that do not conform to the template will be returned to the authors.

Font and Formatting

All manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with single line spacing, and justified alignment. Page numbers should not be included. Paragraph spacing must be set to 6 pt before and 6 pt after.

Required Sections of the Manuscript

All manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. Therefore, author names, institutional affiliations, and acknowledgements must not appear in the main text. Personal references to the authors’ previous publications should also be avoided in the main text.

The main sections required in manuscripts submitted to the journal include the following:

Book Reviews

Book reviews are limited to 2,000 words. At the beginning of the review, the bibliographic information of the book under review should be presented as follows:

Title of the book

Author(s)

Place of publication: Publisher, edition, year of publication, number of pages

Commentaries / Letters to the Editor

Commentaries on previously published articles and letters addressed to the editor are accepted. Letters to the editor are expected to contribute to academic discussion, provide informative content, and present new perspectives.

Referencing Style

References must be listed in alphabetical order according to the authors’ surnames. All in-text citations must follow the APA 7th edition guidelines.

In-text citations should include the author’s surname and the year of publication. For example:
Balcı (2005) …
According to Balcı (2015) …
Balcı and Dilek (2018)

For works with more than three authors, all author names should be listed in the first citation. In subsequent citations, only the surname of the first author should be used, followed by et al.
Example:
First citation: Aydın, Tutuman, Genç, Çınar, and Duman (2015)
Subsequent citations: Aydın et al. (2015)

When citing multiple sources within parentheses in the middle or at the end of a sentence, references should be ordered alphabetically:
(e.g., Akbaba, 2010; Özel, 2012; Parlak, 2019)

For direct quotations, the page number must be provided:
(e.g., Aydoğdu, 2024, p. 45)

Tables, Figures, and Graphics

Tables, figures, and graphics included in the text must be justified within the text area. Titles of tables, figures, and graphics must be bold and clearly indicated.

Reference List Format

References should be presented in alphabetical order as illustrated below:

Regular Issue:
