THE MODERNIZATION PROBLEM IN TURKISH EDUCATION ACCORDING TO THE "GREEN NIGHT" BY REŞAT NURİ GÜNTEKİN

Abstract

This study tries to take into consideration the intellectual and institutional development of modernization in Turkish education and theemerging new-old competition in this process from the Meşrutiyet to the Presidency in the context of the events of Reşat Nuri Güntekin's Green Night Roman. The process involves the phases of the Roman heroine, Ali Şahin, beginning with the madrasa education and including the education in Darülmuallimin and the years of teaching in the town of Sarıova. The work reveals the reflections of 19th century Ottoman westernization/renewal on the Turkish education system and social life

REŞAT NURİ GÜNTEKİN’İN “YEŞİL GECE” ROMANINA GÖRE TÜRK EĞİTİMİNDE YENİLEŞME SORUNU

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Meşrutiyetten Cumhuriyete uzanan süreçte Türk eğitimindeki modernleşmenin düşünsel ve kurumsal gelişimini ve bu suretle ortaya çıkan yeni-eski rekabetini Reşat Nuri Güntekin’in Yeşil Gece Romanı’ndaki olaylar örgüsü içinde ele almaya çalışmaktadır. Söz konusu süreç, Romanın baş kahramanı Ali Şahin’in medrese eğitimi ile başlayıp Darülmuallimin’deki eğitimi ve Sarıova kasabasındaki öğretmenlik yıllarını içine alan evreleri içermektedir. Eser, temel olarak 1920.yüzyıl Osmanlı batılılaşma/yenileşme sorununun Türk eğitim sistemi ve sosyal yaşamı üzerindeki yansımalarını ortaya koymaktadır
