Türkiye’de Yaşam Beklentisi – Eğitim Süresi İlişkisi: MVAR Modeli İle Bir Analiz

Year 2008, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 127 - 135, 01.12.2008

Abstract

Schooling investment affects the human capital accumulation directly. Decions of this investment depend positively on life expectancy. Long life expectancy encourage individuals to spend a large number of years in education. Because the time they expect to benefit from the returns to education will be long. Consequently improvements in life expectancy will increase investment in human capital, which in turn may increase economic growth rate. In this study, the relation betweeen life expectancy and schooling time is analyzed. The annual data in between years 1983-2005 is tested via MVAR model. According to the findings, there is a causal relation from the life expectancy to schooling time in Turkey.

TÜRKİYE’DE YAŞAM BEKLENTİSİ – EĞİTİM SÜRESİ İLİŞKİSİ: MVAR MODELİ İLE BİR ANALİZ

Year 2008, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 127 - 135, 01.12.2008
