Abstract

Augmented reality and virtual reality applications help interpret and classify cultural heritage sites and make sense of the built environment. Augmented reality and virtual reality reveal the potential of applications in an expanding scope, including the domain of cultural heritage construction. The applications of these echnologies ech that cultural heritage areas can be utilized in the best way when they provide continuity with the development of other information and communication echnologies. The use of these applications in the tourism echnologi is important in terms of providing change and competitive advantage. Therefore, many augmented reality and virtual reality applications have started to be implemented in cultural heritage areas around the echn. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to identify cultural heritage sites such as museums, churches, mosques, castles and ruins in Jerusalem where augmented reality and virtual reality applications can be applied. In the study, secondary data in this field were used by using the echnologi review technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods. It is seen that the use of augmented reality and virtual reality applications in cultural heritage areas is applied to protect these values, to transfer future generations and to increase tourist satisfaction. In this context, while questioning whether augmented reality and virtual reality echnologies will be applied in the cultural heritage areas of Jerusalem, it is thought that this study will make an important contribution to the relevant echnologi by aiming to raise awareness about the transfer of cultural heritage structures to future generations. As a result of the study, suggestions were echnolo the use of these echnologies in the cultural heritage areas in Jerusalem.

Abstract

Year 2024, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 75 - 88, 31.12.2024
