Abstract
Today, there are many alternatives for public transportation, which is a branch of the service sector. One of these alternatives and the most common is private-public buses. The buses that will serve in this respect must meet the public's demands and have some features for private-public bus operators to prefer them purchasing. Private public bus operators choose from multiple alternatives under spesific criteria when purchasing buses. These criteria gain value in different weights and sizes according to the selectors. Knowing the weights of the criteria affecting the selection is essential for bus manufacturers. One way of choosing the most suitable alternative for the decision maker is Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. One of the most widely used MCDM techniques is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In this study, after the criteria that private public bus operators consider when purchasing buses in Sivas province were determined by taking expert opinion, the priority evaluation of the criteria was made with the Analytical Hierarchy Process method, again as a result of expert opinions. The solution to the problem was done using Microsoft Excel. It has been observed that the most important features affecting the selection are the brake and front suspension (0.25 and 0.10), which are the sub-criteria of the driveline criterion. In the following process, the preference order of the bus operators was determined by evaluating the price-performance ratio.
