Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of hedonic and utilitarian consumption tendencies of public staff on consumer behavior and to determine the level of impact of consumer behavior on economic gains. For this purpose, a survey was applied to the public personnel working in the province of Iğdır. The data obtained from the surveys were evaluated within the scope of EFA and CFA in the first place, and the reliability and validity of the scales were tested. The data were then evaluated using The Multiple-Group Structural Equation model, Independent Samples T-Test, One-Way Anova and Manova. In the study, it was seen that both hedonic and utilitarian consumption trends had a significant effect on economic gain. It has been observed that as the frequency of following economic and financial developments and the income levels of public staff increase, the level of economic gain also increases. Furthermore, it has been observed that utilitarian consumption tendencies increase as the age level of public staff increases and hedonic consumption tendencies increase as the age level decreases. On the other hand, it was determined that utilitarian consumption trends in men and hedonic consumption trends in women outweighed. In addition, it was concluded that there is a positive and directly proportional relationship between the credit card usage rates of public staff and the hedonic sub-dimension levels; that is, the hedonic sub-dimension levels increase as the credit card usage rates increase.
