Öz

Halen içinde bulunduğumuz ortamda küresel ticaretin tonaj olarak % 80‘inden fazlası denizyolu ile taşınmaktadır. Ulaştırma sektörü Dünya’da üretilen toplam enerjinin yaklaşık % 27’sini tüketmekte ve küresel CO2 miktarının % 23’ünü oluşturmaktadır. Ulaştırma sektörü enerji verimliliği ve çevre kirliliği konularında politikalar üretirken denizyolu taşımacılığı da bu konularda çalışmalar yapmaktadır. Bu konuda en temel ergüman teknoloji gelişimidir. Bu sayede kaynak kullanımı ve çevre kirliliği konusunda iyileştirmeler yapmak mümkün olabilecektir. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde sürdürülebilirlik kavramı açısından deniz ticareti ele alınmış, enerji verimliliği ve çevre kirliliği konuları gemiler ve limanlar açısından değerlendirilmiştir
