Some Phonologic Features of the 18 (Eighteenth) Century Turkish According to Halepli Edîb Dîvân

Abstract

The pronunciation of classical Ottoman Turkish texts is changes that took place in language. A number of stııdies based on foreign publications in Latin script and some exceptional cliched misspellings have been conducted to account for the phonetic features of the period. The study is an attempt to characterise some 18th century phonetic features, based on the of use of cinas (= homophonic ryming) in Halepli Edîb Dîvân.
