Abstract

Edebiyat terimlerinin mahiyeti iyice kavranmadan edebî eserlerin her yönüyle anlaşılması, bir milletin edebiyatına derinliğine nüfuz edilmesi neredeyse imkansızdır. İthaf terimi de, bazı edebiyat eserlerinin çözümlenmesinde, onu ortaya koyan sanatkârın sanat hayatının aydınlatılmasında belirleyici rol oynayabilir. Türk edebiyat tarihinde, bir tarafıyla yanlış olarak adına "İthaf" denen tutumun dikkate değer bir macerası ve ilginç denebilecek tezahürleri vardır. Bu makalede, söz konusu terimin geçmişten bugüne ne şekillerde kullanıldığı, edebiyat dünyasında hangi anlamlara geldiği ve niçin yanlış yorumlandığı örneklerle incelendi ve nihayet bir "ithafnâme"nin düşündürdükleri anlatılmaya çalışıldı

Analysis of the Term "Dedication" in Turkish Literature

Abstract

: it is almost impossibie to comprehend literary products and literature background of a nation unless the importance of literature terms is fully understood. The term "dedication" could play a critical role in understanding of a literary product as weil as understanding of its producer. The attitude sometimes wrongly referred as "dedication" has considerable history and interesting results in Turkish literature. In this article, through examples, we try to show how this term has been used from the past to today, what meaning it has had and why it has been misused. Besides, we try to explain what a "dedicatory" reminds.
