Sanayi Sektöründe Petrol Talebinin Fiyat ve Gelir Esneklikleri: OECD Ülkeleri Örneği

Abstract
Önemli bir enerji kaynağı olan petrolün talep esnekliklerinin belirlenmesi, uygun enerji politikalarının tasarlanması ve bu politikaların
enerji talebine olan etkilerinin ölçülmesinde rol oynamaktadır. Bu
çalışmanın amacı, 1997-2013 dönemi için OECD ülkelerinde sanayi
sektöründe petrol talebinin fiyat ve gelir esnekliklerinin tahmin edilmesidir. Öncelikle OECD ülkelerinde sektörel enerji tüketimi ilgili
literatür gözden geçirilmiştir. Daha sonra OECD ülkelerinde sektörel
enerji tüketiminin belirleyicileri irdelenmiştir. Ampirik analiz çerçevesini oluşturmak için ilgili literatürde yer alan enerji talep modelleri
incelenmiştir. Uygun model belirlendikten sonra OECD ülkelerinde
sanayi sektöründe petrol talep esnekliklerini tahmin etmek için dinamik panel veri yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, petrol fiyatlarındaki %1’lik artışın sanayi sektöründe enerjiye olan talebi
%1.76 oranında azaltırken, sanayi üretim endeksinde ortaya çıkacak
%1 oranındaki bir artışın petrol tüketimlerini de %1.34 oranında
artıracağı görülmektedir. Bu sonuçlara göre, fiyat ve gelir esneklikleri
bakımından OECD ülkeleri sanayi sektöründe petrol talebi elastiktir.
