İnanç Gelişim Teorisi: İnanç Aşamaları

Abstract

İnanç gelişim teorisi kaleme alındığı 1981 yılından günümüze kadar inanç ve onun gelişimi konusunda en çok incelenen, değerlendirilen ve tartışılan teorilerden birisi olmuştur. Bu teori üzerinde 200’den fazla çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bizzat James W. Fowler’in kendisi, 2015 yılı Ekim ayındaki vefatına kadar sürekli olarak inanç olgusu üzerinde çalışmalarda bulunmuş ve çok sayıda makale ve kitap kaleme almıştır. Bu makale de ülkemizde üzerinde çok az çalışmanın yapıldığı bir konunun detaylı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Fowler, inanç konusunda bebeklerin inanç gelişimini kategorize eden bir ön aşama da dahil edildiğinde yedi basamaklı bir aşama modeli ileri sürmüştür. Fowler’in teorisine göre bir aşamadan diğerine geçiş otomatik olarak gerçekleşmemekte, bireyin bir önceki aşamada ortaya çıkan gelişim ödevlerini başarılı bir şekilde tamamlaması gerekmektedir. Ayrıca teoride sürekli bir ilerleme meydana gelmekte olup tamamlanan bir aşamaya geri dönmek söz konusu değildir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise kısa bir şekilde insanların hangi inanç basamağında oluklarının tespit edilmesi amacıyla Fowler tarafından geliştirilen ‘İnanç Gelişim Mülakatı’ hakkında bilgi verilmektedir.
