General Rules

1. Bilimname is an international, peer-reviewed journal based in Kayseri. It is published twice (2) a year. Special issues or supplements may be published in addition to these regular issues when necessary.

2. Bilimname is an academic journal that publishes scholarly articles covering all fields of theological studies.

3. All copyrights for articles submitted to Bilimname belong to the journal. Such articles may not be published elsewhere, reproduced, or used without proper citation without obtaining permission from Bilimname. Furthermore, the authors bear full legal responsibility for the content of their articles.

4. The languages ​​of publication for Bilimname are Turkish and English. Articles must not have been published elsewhere previously.

5. To ensure international standards, the use of reference management software—such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote—is mandatory. Articles that do not meet this requirement will not be accepted into the publication process.

6. Articles must employ one of the following citation styles: Chicago, ISNAD, or APA.

7. If an Ethics Committee Approval is required, the name of the granting institution and the approval number must be stated in the "Methodology" section and the "Ethics Committee Approval" section of the article. Additionally, the Ethics Committee Approval document must be uploaded to the file submission section. Articles that fail to meet this requirement will not be published.

8. The article title must be provided in both Turkish and English and must not exceed 14 words. Submitted manuscripts are expected to be between 6,000 and 11,000 words in length. In cases where the word count falls below or exceeds the established limits, the assessment of the Editorial Board shall be decisive.

9. The article must include, at the beginning, a Turkish abstract (200–250 words) and 3–5 Turkish keywords, as well as an English abstract (200–250 words) and 3–5 English keywords. The first keyword must indicate the academic discipline to which the article belongs. Furthermore, the article must conclude with an English "Extended Abstract" of at least 750 words. For articles written in English, a Turkish "Extended Abstract" of at least 750 words must be provided. Articles that fail to meet these requirements will not be published, even if they have completed the peer-review process.

10. Automatic numbering must not be used within the article. Headings and subheadings (e.g., Introduction, A, B, 1, 2, a, b, i, ii, iii, 3, 4, Conclusion, Bibliography) must be presented without the use of automatic numbering features.

11. At the end of the article, under the heading “BIBLIOGRAPHY”, cited works must be listed alphabetically by the author's surname. Surnames should be written in capital letters, and first names in lowercase.

12. As articles submitted to Bilimname undergo a peer-review process, the manuscripts uploaded to the system must not contain the author's name or any information that could reveal the author's identity. Once the peer-review process is complete, information regarding the author(s) will be added to the article by the editor. 

13. When registering for Bilimname as an author or reviewer, all requested information must be provided in full. Under the "Curriculum Vitae" (CV) section, the author’s/reviewer’s areas of work and research interests should be listed. Under the “Department” section, the department should be specified first, followed by the specific field of study. E.g., Basic Islamic Studies/Tafsir; Philosophy and Religious Studies/Psychology of Religion.

14. Bilimname is an exclusively electronic (online-only) journal.

15. Manuscripts must be formatted according to the specifications below when being uploaded to the journal’s submission system.

2. For articles using a special font that is not available in the Microsoft Word program, the font file should be added when the article is added to the system.

3. Manuscripts should not include details such as page numbers, headers and footers.

4. In terms of spelling and punctuation, the spelling guide of the Turkish Language Association should be taken as basis, except in cases where the article or the subject is mandatory.

5. Chicago, ISNAD (for Basic Islamic Sciences) or APA (for Philosophy and Religious Sciences) should be used for citation systems in articles. However, a bibliography must be included at the end of each article.
