Energy Sector Analysis with Fuzzy TOPSIS

Abstract

Energy is the most crucial input of production and plays an important role in the economic development. Since the sector of energy interacts with the other sectors, pursuing the performance of energy companies is inevitable. In this study, the financial performance assessment of eight energy companies, whose stock certificates are processed in Borsa Istanbul, is analysed with the method of Rate Analysis using the financial statements of 2014-2017. It is aimed to compare the performance changes in the financial performance of the companies over the past four years. The company’s liquidity, activity, financial leverage and profitability rates are analysed with Fuzzy TOPSIS multi-criteria decision making method.
